Portraits of Chemu

Some photos of my friend, Chemu Caroline with her pianist, Amin (also a friend!) while they were performing at Conrad. Taken some time back in 2013 on two separate occasions and experimenting with Canon 580EX II wireless flash and Rogue diffuser. Camera and lens used for the performance was the Canon EOS 5D (Classic) with 24-105L and 100mm F2.8L Macro IS.

This one was taken with the 100mm F2.8L Macro. I love this lens because it is ultra sharp. Besides, who says it can be used for macro only? :D

Here, I was trying to include Amin in the frame and have Chemu lit with rim light and also have the flash shoot (sort of) directly into the lens so that the viewer's eyes will be drawn to the bright spot where Chemu. Otherwise, the plant in the foreground would be taking away attention from her.

Trying out the 580 EX II placed on table top and fired wirelessly just out of the frame with Rogue diffuser attached. Camera and lens used was the EOS 7D with 24-105L.
