Electrolux Ultrasilencer Green ZUSG4061

Just got the Ultrasilencer Green ZUSG4061 from Courts today. Not the Miele S8 series that I wanted, but good enough. Oh, do pardon the TRON fanboy in me. :3

A quick review:

Pros:
- Does not use tiny castor wheels that make it difficult to move around as those kind of wheels will struggle to move over their own power cord. Why is this important to me? Because if you have to tug hard, repeatedly, at a vacuum cleaner via the hose just to get it to move, you are also placing additional stress on the hose and the areas its joints on the telescopic tube and main body. Something's gotta give way and break, after a while.
- Pretty quiet even under max power.
- Made in Hungary, and not China.
- Has rubbery or soft-bump edges to soften knocks which the nozzle will encounter during use.
- Super long 9m power cord.
- Telescopic tube does not have small bits of plastic latching mechanism sticking out. Again, why is this important to me? Because those bits that stick out can and will get knocked again and again and get broken when you are not careful while cleaning under beds and sofas.

Cons:
- So quiet that family members may not know that you are actually doing housework.

Will add on more (legitimate) cons over time.

Oh, you might be able to get it cheaper from places like Goh Ah Bee or Ban Kim Chuan if they also carry Electrolux's range of products. Best to give them the brand and model of appliances you want and get them to quote you.

Additional info:

My experience with small castor wheels and little latching mech plastic bits on the telescopic tube was based off the Rowenta Silent Force 2200W in the picture below. I have had this model for a few years and it is, in my opinion, a very powerful, quiet and durable vacuum cleaner. Hopefully Rowenta redesigns their flagship models with larger wheels and latching mechanisms that do not protrude out to get knocked off over time. When that happens, chances are that I will come to love Rowenta again and can then strongly recommend them. :)

Thanks for reading!

Hi Julie! Yup, I recommend it. The only minor niggle I have about it is the flat power cable that can get caught under furniture legs at times. The cable is very very long, though! So you shouldn't have a problem reaching the end of your rooms from another!

Cheers,
Theo
